Having a sound relaxing sleep is one of the signposts of well-being.

It could be helpful to keep a sleep diary to keep track of your sleep habit. You do not need to write this sleep diary everyday. In my case, I write a few times in a month to journal when I suddenly experience insomnia or a sound enjoyable sleep, what I have consumed (foods/beverage) before that sleep and how I felt when awakening.

You can record either Napping time or Night sleep. I usually take journal of napping too.

What are signs that I am getting good sleep?

Good sleep requires more than just the recommended 7 to 9 hours. Other signs of good sleep are:

  • You fall asleep within 15 - 20 minutes of lying down
  • You don't lie awake for long periods of time when you'd like to be sleeping
  • You feel refreshed when you wake up
  • You feel alert and productive during the waking hours

A new morning habit: drink salted lemon water for optimum hydration

I do drink water consciously and regularly. However, sometimes after frequent short-distance and long-distance travels, I still find myself exhausted with sluggish muscle and a mild headache. Since recently I have just bought a small box of salted lemon, I intuitively think of making some salted lemon water and drink.
